Kalabhavan Mani death mystery continues

Kalabhavan Mani died in March last year at his outhouse Paadi, which is located on the banks of Chalakkudy river, under mysterious circumstances. The lab test at Kakkanad revealed the presence of deadly pesticide Chlorpyrifos and high amount of Methanol in the body of the Character Artiste. However, Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad declared that only Methanol, which is normally found in illegal country liquor, was found after testing the Viscera Samples.

Kerala Government has formed a SIT to probe Kalabhavan Mani’s death mystery. Chalakkudy DySP Shahul Hameed who headed SIT now says the case has been shut down due to lack of concrete evidence on the alleged foul play.

In July 2016, State Government asked CBI to probe Kalabhavan Mani’s death case. CBI is yet to take over the case.

Kalabhavan Mani’s Family kept alleging there is a conspiracy behind the sudden death. Mani’s Brother RLV Ramakrishnan isn’t happy with the investigation carried out by SIT. He questions, ‘How the deadly pesticide was found in Mani’s body if there is no foul play. We will move the court for justice.’
