‘Kalki 2898 AD’ To Present Hindu Mythology In Glory!

The secret recipe to Rajamouli’s success is that his films maintain Hollywood-level technical standards while being routed to our culture. Indian heritage, emotions, mythologies and other elements are explored in a wonderful manner in his films. A lot of filmmakers are using this style lately. For a film to appeal to the International audience, it doesn’t need to showcase the Western style. Staying true to your culture whilst using updated technology when it comes to filmmaking makes the films appealing all over.

Going by the glimpse of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, Nag Ashwin seems to have done the same. We have seen the film being setup in a dystopian world and everything starting from the masked men to the costumes looked very different. Despite the slight resemblance with Star Wars, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ seems to be a pretty routed film as we can see a close-up shot of Shiva idol in one frame while the weapons he showcased too remind people of lord Vishnu’s weapons like Sudarshana Chakra, Axe, Trishool and others.

It looks like Nag Ashwin has made a movie with technical prowess on par with Hollywood films but the story is rooted to Indian culture which is a wonderful combination. The visual effects are appealing too and they will be improved further as the movie is going to release in January 2024. If Nag Ashwin manages to impress the audience, the impact of this film on Indian cinema will be on another level.
