Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan who is eyeing the much anticipated 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections has welcomed a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer into his party today.
Retired IAS officer Santhosh Babu joined the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) in the presence of party chief Kamal Hassan on Tuesday. A few leaders of the party were also present at the event.
Kamal Hassan addressed the media after the Retired IAS officer Santhosh Babu, who gained himself a good name as an IAS officer joined the party. He expressed his happiness over Santosh Babu joining his party.
Speaking further, Kamal Hassan has extended his support for the ongoing farmers’ agitation against the controversial farm bills introduced by the Union government recently.
The Universal Hero said he is supporting the farmers’ agitation and the Union government should listen to the demands put forth by the farmers who are opposing the farms.
He hinted that he would seek support from his friend Superstar Rajinikanth who is also expected to make a big announcement on his political entry.
He said, during his political campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections, he will be going to each and every house as part of the door to door campaign. Why will I leave my friend’s house, he added,
Kamal Hassan went on to say that coming to the matter of Thalaivar Rajinikanth, he is more concerned about his friend’s health more than the politics.
Kamal Hassan floated his Makkal Needhi Maiam(MNM) party on February 21, 2018, in Madurai. The party went for the elections during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and contested 37 constituencies. The party lost the elections cheaply by losing all the seats.
