Super Star Rajinikanth will be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest film award given to members for their contribution towards Cinema. He has been selected for the award for 2019.
After the news broke out, Rajinikanth’s friend, ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan reacted to this and congratulated Rajin. Kamal Haasan opined that Rajinikanth deserves the award cent percent.
In a tweet made in Tamil, Kamal Haasan said, his dear friend Rajinikanth who has won fans by his screen presence deserves the award 100 percent.
The leading duo of Tamil Cinema Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth shared the screen 16 times. The 16 films include K. Balachander’s Apoorva Raagangal, the debut of Rajinikanth.
Earlier this day, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar took to Twitter to share the news of Dadasaheb Phalke award for 2019 to Rajinikanth. Calling Rajinikanth as one of the greatest actors of Indian Cinema, the Union Minister called his contributions to cinema iconic.
“Happy to announce Dadasaheb Phalke award for 2019 to one of the greatest actors in the history of Indian cinema Rajnikant ji. His contribution as actor, producer and screenwriter has been iconic,” he tweeted.
