Universal Hero Kamal Hasaan, who had floated his political outfit Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) in 2018 contested his maiden election in the 2021 Tamil Nadu General elections. But he lost his first electoral polls by a small margin.
Now Kamal Haasan said he would be in politics till he is alive and there is no question of quitting politics. The big statement came days after a few leaders bid goodbye to the party for various issues.
Leaders who had left the party leveled allegations against the party and party chief that lack of democracy and autocracy are the reasons that have forced them to leave MNM. These allegations added fuel to the reports that Kamal would quit the party soon.
Rubbishing all the reports, Kamal released a video in which he said there is no truth that he will quit politics. ‘I will be in politics till I am alive. People who left the party are ‘nomadic’ and ‘yatris’, Ualaganayagan said.
He went on to say that learning from the failures is a stepping stone and asserted that his political outfit would go through a major transformation. People are finding fault with giving chances to people who are not well noted and seeing this as autocratic, he observed.
Kamal Haasan took a dig at leaders, who have left the party after the party lost the elections and said, one thing these leaders don’t know is that the desertions will not affect the party. Those who are dedicated to working for the party and going forward with the work, he said.
The poll debacle cost big time for the MNM party as one after the other leaders have started to leave the party citing various issues and reasons. Several leaders, who were placed in key posts have bid goodbye to the party.
Party general secretary M Muruganandam, vice president R Mahendran, former IAS officer Santhosh Babu, state secretary Padma Priya and a party functionary C K Kumaravel have left the party post-poll-result.
