Yesterday, Shilpa Shetty announced that she and her husband, Raj Kundra have welcomed their second child, Samisha Shetty Kundra through surrogacy. The news was indeed a piece of good news and fans and film fraternity have congratulated the actress for the same. But, Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandell, as usual, was ready to take a dig at Shilpa. But, it was not a direct attack.
Just a few hours after Shilpa revealed the news to the world on her surrogacy child, Rangoli tweeted that she is adopting a girl child and not opting for surrogacy. “I have a baby I want another one my husband and I decided to adopt, I want to encourage couples to adopt than to go for surrogates, to each his own but let’s try and give homes to those also who are already in this world and longing for parents,” she tweeted.
“My sister has inspired us to do this, Ajay and I have done all the formalities hopefully in a few months our baby girl will be with us, Kangana as named her Ganga. So fortunate to be able to give a home to a child,” she added. Soon after, netizens slammed at Rangoli for being judgemental. A netizen wrote, “Surrogate child or adopted child..its completely couple’s personal decision. u have no right to say adaptation is better than surrogate (since u indirectly pointing it).”
Another netizen wrote, “Why do u tweet today? Is it after Shilpa’s news of surrogacy delivery? It’s finally individuals call to do surrogacy or adoption.. we shouldn’t judge them on this basis.” While we believe that adopting a girl child is indeed a profound decision as we give a supportive family and a permanent home to foster children, who are in need of one. But, calling surrogacy a bad decision is something beyond our imagination as many couples are opting for it on terns of being biologically and genetically theirs. And one needs to respect their personal decisions.
