Karan Johar suggests Kangana should leaves the industry

One of the fiercest episodes of Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee with Karan season 5 was the one featuring Kangana Ranaut, and Saif Ali Khan. While Saif maintained his royal poise, and cut back on his understated sense of humour, it was Kangana who stole the show by giving it back to Karan. She openly called him out for nepotism, in a witty, well-framed set of words. “Not entirely! She made an impact with her sweeping statements! That was fun… for her! And the show.” Karan had tweeted when asked if Kangana was right about nepotism. At a recent event, Karan had the opportunity to use more than 140 words to express his opinion about the actress, and he used it to the fullest. From suggesting that Kangana should leave the industry to saying that she plays the victim card a little too much – Karan bared it all.

Karan was speaking at the LSE India Forum event. When asked about the episode in question, he said, “I appreciated she had great perspective and everyone lauded her because she came on my show and gave it off to Karan, according to what everyone said. I was gracious enough to keep everything. I cut none of it. I could have edited so much, it is my show. I said no, this is her opinion and let the world see it. I gave her the platform,” An answer that could have easily stopped at this point, was further elaborated with hurtful words that might just start a new industry fight. “I am done with Kangana playing the woman card, and the victim card. You cannot be this victim at every given point of time who has a story to tell about how you were terrorised bad world of the industry. Then leave it!” he further added, sparking a wave of chuckles from the audience.

The episode featuring Kangana had garnered a strong reaction. A hell lot of opinion and satirical pieces started flooding the internet. Arre wrote, ” It took the three-time National Award-winning actress all of Koffee with Karan’s 47-minute runtime to call out Karan Johar on his nepotism, disdain for outsiders, and the absolute frivolity that is the hallmark of his show.” And there seemed to be no end of it. Majority applauded Kangana for her attitude. And of course, Karan had to speak up. This might be the harshest reply Karan has given to the Rangoon actress, but it would have been more impactful had he done it in that very episode. And not three weeks after the airing, when a majority have sided with the actress. Also Read: Karan Johar becomes a father of twins through surrogacy

This was not the only jibe taken at Kangana Ranaut that we should talk about. On the latest episode of Koffee with Karan, the host asked Kapil Sharma what would he do if he woke up as Kangana Ranaut one day. The comedian replied that he would delete all the email accounts. Kapil and Karan shared a sly laughter after this statement. Kapil soon changed his answer to something else, but Karan chose to stick to the original stance.
