In the latest episode of Karthika Deepam, Soundarya confronts Monitha and questions her unwanted interest in Karthik. She further complains that Monitha is disturbing Karthik. Monitha, who pretends to be shocked by the allegations, replies that Karthik is rather disturbed by Deepa’s affair with Vihari.
Soundarya slaps Monitha for disrespecting her daughter-in-law (Deepa). Adding that she is taking the issue seriously, Soundarya warns Monitha to stay in her limits. Srilatha is happy about Soundarya’s visit.
At home, Karthik distributes sweets amongst the family members celebrating his new move towards divorce with Deepa. He indirectly says that Soundarya’s warning to Monitha will not work. Soundarya and Anand Rao fear that he has plotted something against Deepa again. Soundarya prays to god for help.
Even Monitha prays to god to favour her in the Deepa-Karthik’s divorce issue. She tells Srilatha that she will fast until Deepa signs on the divorce documents. Srilatha despises Monitha and prays to god for help.
Deepa, on the other hand, recollects the bittersweet moments with Karthik and decides to take divorce at least for the sake of her missing second daughter. As she is about to sign the papers, Soundarya, Sourya and Varanasi barge in.
Sourya thanks Soundarya for coming down immediately responding to her call. Varanasi takes Sourya away.
Deepa hides the papers from Soundarya. She insists Deepa upon showing the papers.
