Tamil actor Karthi, who enjoys a strong fan base in Telugu-speaking regions, has found himself embroiled in a controversy following a comment made at a pre-release event for his upcoming film, “Sathyam Sundaram.” During the event, while responding to a meme featuring the infamous “Laddoo Kavala Nayana” picture, Karthi jokingly remarked that he would not comment on the matter as it was a “sensitive issue.”
This lighthearted comment, however, did not sit well with many, including Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan. Kalyan took to social media to criticize Karthi’s remark, stating that jokes about “laddu” should be avoided and that the topic should not be treated as a “sensitive issue.” He further emphasized his respect for Karthi as an actor but suggested that the actor should be more mindful of his words and show respect for Sanathan Dharma.
The comment from Kalyan has sparked a heated debate, with many weighing in on the issue. While some have defended Karthi’s comment as a harmless joke, others have supported Kalyan’s stance, arguing that the topic of “laddu” is indeed sensitive for many.
Despite the controversy, “Sathyam Sundaram” continues to generate excitement among audiences. The film, directed by C Prem Kumar, is a heartwarming drama set in a rural backdrop. The teaser and trailer have garnered positive reviews, promising a blend of humor, emotions, and meaningful life lessons.
The film stars Karthi, Aravind Swami, Sri Divya, Swathi Konde, and Devadarshini in key roles. Govind Vasantha has composed the music, while Mahendiran Jayaraju has handled the cinematography. “Sathyam Sundaram” is set to hit theaters on September 28th and is expected to be a commercial success.
