Karthi, who attained a star hero image in Telugu and Tamil, has scored a blockbuster hit with the film Khaidi. His upcoming film Sulthan, which is set to release on April 2, has done a superb pre-release business. The impressive teasers and trailers of Sulthan have helped the movie team to record a decent business in Telugu states.
Following the success of Kaidhi, Sulthan has acquired Rs 7 crore shares in Andhra-Telangana.
Area-wise ‘Sulthan’ pre-release business:
Nizam – Rs 2 Cr
Ceeded – Rs 1 Cr
Andhra – Rs 3 Cr
Andhra – Telangana Total Business: Rs 6 Cr
According to this, if Sulthan collects over Rs 6.5 crore in both the Telugu states, it will bring profits to the distributors. However, this will be a big task for Karthi and his film. Directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, the film is bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures. Rashmika Mandanna is the female lead.
