Telangana CM KCR has yet again disappointed his daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha by denying her Rajya Sabha ticket. Two Upper House seats got vacated and the ruling TRS has absolute chance of bagging both of them.
KCR returned to Hyderabad last night from his constituency Gajwel and today TRS leaders met him at Pragathi Bhavan to discuss about the Rajya Sabha tickets. KCR is planning to give one more chance to TRS general secretary K Keshav Rao while the other ticket is yet to be confirmed. There are reports that former Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy is in race but Ponguleti said he has no clue about Rajya Sabha tickets.
TRS insiders thought KCR would definitely offer the seat to Kavitha who lost from Nizamabad in the last elections because she was denied Huzurnagar assembly ticket in the past. Somehow KCR is said to be not convinced sending Kavitha to the Upper House.
The deadline for filing nomination for Rajya Sabha ends tomorrow and still there is no clarity on the candidates. Like KCR did during the Lok Sabha elections, the names of candidates may be announced late in the night. Till then the suspense continues.
