KCR Donation For A Temple In Andhra

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is known for his staunch beliefs in religious activities. Soon after winning the 2018 elections in the newly-formed Telangana, he performed a five-day homam, Sahasra Chandi Yagam, at Erravelli in Siddipet district with over 300 seers invoking goddess Chandi.

After winning the elections in 2014 too, KCR donated jewellery worth Rs 5 crore to Lord Balaji at Tirumala, as per his promise during the agitations for a separate state. The offerings included a ‘Saligrama Haram’ and a ‘kante’ to the Lord. He also offered a diamond-studded ‘mukku pudaka’ weighing 11.29 gm to goddess Kanakadurga at Vijayawada.

In 2016, he had offered a 12-kg gold crown to Goddess Bhadrakali worth Rs 3.5 crore in Warangal.

Now, KCR donated for the construction of Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Swarnamukhi in Naidupet mandal in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district. The Maharaja Gopuram and East Mada street would be constructed with the donations made by KCR.

On Saturday, Srivari Vigraha Prathishta, Kumbhabhishekam and other rituals were performed in a grand manner. KCR and his wife Shobha were expected to attend the consecration ceremony. However, the couple abstained from attending the programme owing to Covid restrictions.

The temple trust board committee unveiled a plaque in the name of KCR at the temple.
