The loss in Dubbaka by-elections left a very sour taste in the mouths of all TRS members. Until the very last moment, it was believed that Chief Minister KCR would go to Dubbaka and campaign for the elections, but he didn’t do so, for whatever the reason was. Ultimately, this resulted in the TRS losing the Dubbaka by-elections to the BJP, by 1000 votes.
It is now being said that KCR told TRS members that he would not repeat the same mistake again and that he would campaign for the upcoming Nagarjuna Sagar by-elections. KTR is also said to be campaigning for Sagar by-elections. KCR is also said to have given the amount dedicated for the election campaign, Rs. 28 Lakhs, to Nomula Bhagath, the TRS candidate for the by-elections.
Chinnapa Reddy and Koti Reddy have also wanted to contest in the by-elections, but the ticket was ultimately given to Bhagath, and in return, Chinnapa and Kit are said to have been promised MLC seats by KCR. Chinnapa is already an MLC, and he has reportedly been promised another term as an MLC, while Koti Reddy has been promised an MLC seat.
It is now to be seen if the TRS will win this time, with KCR actively campaigning. If TRS manages to win this time, then it would be clear that the TRS hasn’t lost its popularity in the state.
