The other day, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made a strong statement in the press conference that nobody could touch him and if anybody tried to make any such attempt, he would be burnt into ashes. He was referring to the statements made by some Bharatiya Janata Party leaders that he would be sent to jail soon for his alleged irregularities. But, it was pretty evident that he was referring to the possibility of the Centre harassing him in the name of CBI cases against him and his family members.
KCR is aware of the fact that the Centre has kept an eye on him and if he puts up any aggressive posture against the BJP or Prime Minister Narendra Modi in particular, it would dig up some cases and trouble him.
That is precisely why the TRS chief warned his party people against revenge actions from the Centre. He told the party MLAs at the TRS legislature party meeting that they should be careful in taking up any financial activity that involved corruption. He also warned the ministers, MLAs and MLCs not to indulge in any controversial activities.“The Central agencies such as I-T, Intelligence and Enforcement Directorate will be focusing on us, since we are posing a challenge to the BJP by floating a Third Front soon. So, be careful in whatever you do,” the chief minister said.
KCR even asked them not to make any lose comments or indulge in any transactions over phone as, the Centre might even resort to phone tapping. The TRS chief hinted that he might not continue in state politics after 2019, as he would be focussing on the national politics.“I will be the chief minister till 2019 though I began preparing ground for national politics. I won’t give up state politics till then. When Narendra Modi could go to national politics after developing Gujarat, why can’t we do that after developing Telangana?” he asked.
