Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao wants to take his ‘friendship’ with his AP counterpart YS Jaganmohan Reddy to the next level.
KCR is reportedly seriously considering to donate Rs 100 crore to Jagan on behalf of Telangana government for the constuction of Amaravathi.
KCR wants to announce this donation when he visits Vijayawada expected in September to hold talks with Jagan on resolving pending bifurcation-related issues and sharing of Godavari water between AP and TS.
In fact, KCR had earlier revealed that he though of donating Rs 100 crore to Amaravathi in October 2015, when he attended the foundation-laying ceremony of Amaravathi along with PM Modi on the invitation of then AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu.
KCR said he wanted to announce the donation in the public meeting in Amaravathi from the stage itself while giving his speech, but backtracked after he learnt that PM Modi was not giving a single rupee and brought only mud from Parliament and water from Yamuna river for Amaravathi.
KCR said it will not look good if he donates Rs 100 crore in his capacity as CM in front of PM Modi, who is bigger in stature and who brought just mud and water.
KCR now wants to donate this amount to Jagan with a feeling that this will go a long way in establishing ‘cordial relations’ between governments and people of Telugu States.
