KCR’s restrictions become a problem for BJP

The TRS and the BJP haven’t been getting along in the past few months, especially after the BJP defeated the TRS in the Huzurabad by-polls, thanks to Etela Rajendar, who enjoys devoted support in the constituency. The TRS has gone against the Central BJP in the last few weeks, regarding the procurement of paddy from the state, with KCR himself taking part in the protests.

Due to the increasing number of new coronavirus cases in the state, which is a result of the spreading of Omicron in the country, the TRS government imposed several restrictions, from December 25, 2021, to January 2, 2022. These restrictions include banning all rallies, political meetings, public meetings, public gatherings in Telangana. The government has now extended these restrictions till January 10, 2022. Sources say that this is to put a check to Telangana BJP’s Bandi Sanjay’s plans.

After KCR’s protests and rallies against the Central BJP, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took the matter seriously and is said to have told Bandi Sanjay that he would soon visit Telangana. He is also said to have asked Bandi to intensify the fight against KCR. As such, Bandi Sanjay has been planning the second phase of his state-wide padayatra. With the government extending the restrictions in the state, looks like the BJP is going to suffer for a little more time.
