KCR’s Tour Costs A Woman’s Life

It is very common for the police to make security arrangements when a VIP, more so the chief minister, visits a place. But that does not mean they should behave in an inhuman manner.

Unfortunately, the police at Suryapet town lacked the basic humanity. On Tuesday, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao came to Suryapet on his way to Khammam where he inaugurated a lift irrigation scheme.

At Suryapet, he was supposed to take a break for lunch at the residence of Energy minister G Jagadeesh Reddy.

Naturally, the police made elaborate bandobust in Suryapet, especially they blocked all the routes leading to the the minister’s residence.

Around that time, a farmer Anjaiah brought his wife Lakshmamma, an asthma patient, to a nursing home adjacent to Reddy’s residence, in a car, but the police stopped it about 100 metres away. Despite repeated requests, the police did not allow the vehicle to go the hospital.

As a result, the old woman died of cardiac arrest in the car itself. By the time KCR reached the place and entered the minister’s house, everything was over. The doctors at the hospital declared that Lakshmamma was brought dead.

Does it not show the inhuman nature of the police? Though the minister and local TRS leaders assured Anjaiah of all possible help, can they bring back his wife’s life?
