MM Keeravani is one of the top-billed music composers in the Indian film industry. He is associated with each and every project helmed by Rajamouli, arguably the finest filmmaker of the generation. Keeravani and Rajamouli have formed a formidable duo and together, they have delivered several musical blockbusters in the past. The duo is coming together again for RRR, which marks the coming together of Ram Charan and Jr NTR. The recently released ‘Dosti’ song from the audio album turned out to be a chartbuster audio single. It had clocked over 20 million views in just around a day, which is a staggering achievement in every true sense.
Interestingly enough, Keeravani is said to be charging a sensational remuneration for RRR. He is pocketing as much as Rs 18 crores for the project. This makes him the highest-paid music composer in the Telugu film industry and possibly even in Indian cinema. This is just a speculation for now and it is yet to be determined if he is actually receiving such a staggering amount. If the speculation is indeed true, Keeravani seems to be making a fortune by composing RRR’s soundtrack alone. It is safe to say that no other music director had charged such a whopping price for a single project.
RRR is the costliest Indian project that is under making and it is being mounted on a budget in upwards of Rs 400 crores. A sizeable portion of the budget is going for the remunerations of the lead cast and crew. The speculation about Keeravani’s mouth watering remuneration for RRR clearly suggests the same. Given Rajamouli’s persistence to keep his core technical team intact, the producers of his projects are often ready to offer whopping paycheques to the likes of Keeravani, cinematographer, Senthil Kumar, VFX supervisor Kamal Kannan, and others.
RRR is in the final leg of the shoot and the unit is currently in Ukraine, shooting for the final schedule of the film. Ram Charan and Jr NTR are taking part in the final schedule and the entire shoot is expected to be wrapped up with the same.
