Veteran Bollywood actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty was questioned by the Kolkata Police today in connection with a controversial speech made by him while campaigning for the recently concluded West Bengal assembly polls.
As per reports, the ace actor had reportedly made controversial statements like “I will hit you here and the body will fall in the crematorium”, “just one snakebite and you will become a photograph”, during an election rally on March 7 in presence of PM Narendra Modi.
Following his controversial speech, it was also alleged that there was post-poll violence in the state. The police had booked him under Sections 504, 505, 153A, 120B of the IPC. Today, the officials questioned virtually for nearly an hour.
Notably, Chakraborty had approached the Calcutta High Court to get the FIR cancelled. However, the court directed an investigation officer to question the actor virtually.
