Kollywood Star To Play Indian Chess Grandmaster?

Bollywood director Aanand L Rai is all set to make a biopic on Indian chess grandmaster Viswanathan Anand. The 51-year-old is a five-time world chess champion and became the first grandmaster from India in 1988.

He was the first recipient of the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 1991-92. In 2007, he was conferred India’s second highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan, making him the first sportsperson to take the award.

Now comes the big question is who will play Vishwanathan in the biopic? The latest we hear is Kollywood star Dhanush is likely to play Indian chess grandmaster in the film. The makers are yet to make a formal announcement on this regard. The details about the remaining cast are also under wraps. The official announcement is expected soon.

Aanand L Rai is currently shooting Atrangi Re in Delhi. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush.
