If one thought that Komatireddy’s anger and frustration at Revanth Reddy being made the TPCC chief has cooled off, then think again. By his comments on YS Vijayamma’s memorial meeting on late YSR in Hyderabad on Thursday, he has shown that his anger against the Congress high command is still simmering.
On Thursday, he showed his anger and defiance against the High Command by attending the YSR memorial meeting organised by YS Vijayamma. He ignored the directives of TPCC working president Mahesh Goud and attended the meeting. He said he was proud to be a follower of YSR and said that YS was responsible for providing irrigation facility for the parched lands of Telangana. He termed the TPCC directive on YSR memorial meet as insane. ‘What was the TPCC doing all these days? It could have issued a diktat three days ago. Why did it wait till the last meeting?’ he asked.
He also said that those who had won on the Congress ticket had gone to Chandrababu Naidu and prostrated before him. That he was referring to Revanth Reddy’s close camp follower Seetakka. He said these days, those who came from the TDP were getting more respect in the Congress than those who remained loyal to the party. He said how can the TPCC take a decision on the issue of attending YSR memorial meeting when the issue did not come up for discussion within the party forums.
He said the high command cannot take any action against him. ‘When the party did not take any action against Sitakka, who went and tied rakhi to Chandrababu Naidu, how can it take any action against me for attending the memorial meeting of a Congress Chief Minister,’ he asked. It is clear that he was challenging Revanth Reddy, who has joined the Congress from the TDP.
