After the second wave of deadly Covid pandemic has started, medicines like Tocilzumab, Remdesivir, and other life-saving medicines saw a high demand. These medicines became household names and we often listen to those names.
Despite these medicines becoming household names, people are finding it difficult to pronounce these tongue twister names. Telangana IT Minister is not an exemption from the unpronounceable’ names to Covid meds.
The IT Minister, who stays quite active on social media, tweeted about the Covid names and asked if Congressmen Shashi Tharoor can help him in pronouncing these tough names.
“On a lighter note, any idea who comes up with this unpronounceable names for meds?
– Posaconazole
– Cresemba
– Tocilzumab
– Remdesivir
– Liposomal Amphoterecin
– Flavipiravir
– Molnupiravir
– Baricitinib
And the list goes on…,” KTR tweeted.
In another tweet, the Minister said that he thinks, Shashi Tharoor might help him in this regard.” I suspect @ShashiTharoor Ji Pakka has a role to play in this,” he tweeted.
Replying to KTR’s tweet, Shashi Tharoor said: “Not guilty! How can you indulge in such floccinaucinihilipilification, @KTRTRS? Left to me I’d happily call them “CoroNil”, “CoroZero”, & even “GoCoroNaGo!” But these pharmacists are more procrustean….”.
KTR was amazed at the word used by Shashi Tharoor, floccinaucinihilipilification, and said to comprehend the word, he has to put out a dictionary and Tharoorosaurus. P.s: loved the Coronil dig, he added.
