Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) Working President, Municipal Administration, and Urban Development Minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao aka KTR stays active on social media and helps people who are in dire need. The following he has among the masses and people is unbelievable. His funny and witty take on various issues makes him one of the most loved political leaders.
The Minister never misses a chance to walk down memory lane and share the old pictures. Remembering how he spent his days while he was in London two decades back, the Information Technology Minister shared a throwback picture from the streets of London.
Taking to microblogging site Twitter, KTR shared two throwback pictures. In the pictures, KTR can be seen posing with a friend. KTR wore shaded jeans which was a trend in the early 2000s in the throwback picture. ‘#Throwback2001 #London #Wanderlust’, the caption reads.
It is known that KTR used to work abroad after completing his education. He was drawn towards the Telangana movement and left his job and took part in the agitation. He ventured into politics while taking part in the agitation and contested the Sircilla Assembly constituency in 2009 in combined Andhra Pradesh and emerged victorious in the election by defeating the independent candidate.
Taking the call given by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) founder K. Chandrashekar Rao, who was an MLA back then, KTR and other TRS legislators went for the resignations demanding a separate state. In the by-polls too, KTR won the elections with a big margin. The elections were held in 2010 after the High Court issued directives for the concerned officials to hold the elections.
KTR actively took part in the Telangana movement which went aggressively from 2010 to 2014. The education institutions were shut most of the time due to this and the normal people also actively participated in the agitation with a demand of a special state paving way for the bifurcation of the state.
KTR has been contesting the elections from the Sircilla Assembly constituency since 2009. After the formation of the state, TRS tasted a landslide victory in the 2014 general elections and KTR went on to become the IT Minister and currently holds other Ministries too.
