Megastar Chiranjeevi acquired the remake rights of Malayalam super hit movie “Lucifer” that has Mohanlal playing the lead role of a political power centre who could help make or break a chief minister candidate. The film marked the directorial debut of hero Prithviraj and got hailed for the stylish making.
In the wake of that stylish filming, many wonders who would be the best bet for Chiranjeevi to pick as a director in Tollywood. At one point it was heard that Chiru himself would take the direction mantle such that the film will get justified. But then, he asked director Sukumar to come up with a version of the script, where lots of scenes need to be nativised to Telugu states and also some additions in the form of heroine should be added. The original version didn’t had a heroine at all in the movie.
Later the name of Parasuram is also heard as a strong contender, but finally, Chiranjeevi is said to have felt that his long time admirer VV Vinayak is the go-to person. Reports are coming that the dashing director whose remakes for Chiru, including Tagore and Khaidi No 150 worked big time at BO, is aboard the project.
Looks like the director got free after his acting-debut ‘Seenayya’ got shelved and he jumped with pride to take up this direction challenge.
