It is known that the election of the Movie Artists Association (MAA) will be held on October 10. Veteran actor Prakash Raj has already begun his election campaign and is working towards his goal.
Recently, Prakash Raj held a meeting with the members of his panel and his supporters under the name of ‘Maa Biddalu’. Speaking on the occasion, the actor said that he had wanted to contest in MAA elections two years ago, but for some reason, he had to remain silent.
However, he said that MAA has been transformed into a charity association and that it should be like a growing association to strengthen the artists. “Helping a poor artiste with Rs 10,000 or mere doing away with daily essentials aren’t the only things to do. The purpose of the association should be an empowering everyone,” he said.
The actor further said over 150 artists in the association are inactive. Out of 750 movie artists, in the total of 900, 147 are non-local. Among the remaining lot of 600, top actors and they wouldn’t come to vote. So, only 450 are left who decide the fate of contestants in the election. He also noted that 200 members do not need any perks from MAA.
