Malavika Nair to romance Roshan in ‘Pelli Sandadi’ sequel

If the on-going reports are to be believed, Malayalam beauty Malavika Nair has been roped in as the female lead opposite Roshan Meka in the recently announced sequel to the 1996 blockbuster ‘Pelli Sandadi’ titled as ‘Pelli SandaD.’ While an official confirmation is awaited from the makers, a source from the production team told a popular daily “The character requires an actor who could give subtle expressions. It is something that Malavika can do effortlessly. She readily agreed to be a part of the film after hearing the script.”

Jointly bankrolled by Arka Media Works, Madhavi Kovelamudi and K Krishna Mohan Rao, ‘Pelli SandaD’ is expected to go on floors early next year. While the director of the prequel, K Raghavendra Rao will be supervising the direction department, debutante Gowri Ronanki will be helming the flick. MM Keeravani who composed the tunes for the original film has been retained as the music director for this sequel.

This will be the second film for Roshan, son of popular Telugu actor Srikanth Meka, as the protagonist. After playing the younger version of Rana Daggubati in ‘Rudhramadevi’, the 21-year-old turned into the male lead for the 2016 film ‘Nirmala Convent’ bankrolled by Akkineni Nagarjuna.
After proving her mettle in Mollywood, Malavika Nair made her Tollywood debut with Yevade Subramanyam and followed it up with solid performances in Kalyana Vaibhogame, Mahanati and Vijetha. Last seen in Raj Tarun’s Orey Bujjiga, the 24-year-old actress is currently occupied with her second Tamil film titled Arasiyalla Idhellam Saadharnamappa.
