It looks like joining the Bharatiya Janata Party is the best way for tainted politicians and criminals to escape from cases and punishment.
We have seen how four Telugu Desam Party MPs – Y S Chowdary alias Sujana Chowdary, C M Ramesh, T G Venkatesh and Garikapati Mohan Rao – joined the BJP a couple of weeks ago.
All of them are industrialists facing allegations of malpractices in their business activities. Chowdary and Ramesh have even been facing CBI and Income Tax department cases. Now that they have joined the BJP, they are most likely to get out of their cases.
In the latest instance, Koti, a small time activist with criminal background, joined the BJP.
He is the same person who lodged a complaint with Vinukonda police in Guntur district against Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi stating that she was sexually harassing him.
He approached a pro-Telugu Desam Party media channel which telecast a report based on his complaint, projecting Lakshmi Parvathi in a bad light stating that that she was a woman without character, sex maniac and above all, she had no loyalty towards NTR.
He even shared allegedly fake WhatsApp messages that showed Lakshmi Parvathi as a woman without character.
But when Lakshmi Parvathi lodged a complaint with the Telangana police against Koti, he disappeared suddenly.
Investigations later revealed that he was the same person who had made derogatory postings in the social media against actress Poonam Kaur in the past.
Even as the police was on the look-out for him to arrest him, Koti surfaced in the office of BJP Andhra Pradesh unit in Guntur on Tuesday and officially joined the party in the presence of state BJP president Kanna Laksminarayana.
Now, the police will think twice before arresting Koti, because he has the backing of a strong national party!
