Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Monday announced that her party is breaking the alliance with Samajwadi Party (SP). In the recent Lok Sabha polls, both the parties have joined hands to take on BJP. But this ‘Ghatbandhan’ was not well received by the people.
Mayawati alleged that it is because of the Samajwadi Party’s attitude she had to call off the alliance and also added post the elections results, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav did not call her to analyse the poll results and about future plans for the assembly elections. The BSP chief further said her party will go solo in the assembly elections.
Right after this Mayawati has appointed her brother Anand Kumar as vice-president of the party and nephew as the national coordinator.
In reaction to Mayawati’s claims, SP said her decisions are weakening the fight of social justice in the state.
