Amid speculation that deceased minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy’s family member or his wife could be made a minister, here comes the shocker. Sources say that neither Goutham Reddy’s wife nor his family members are interested in taking up ministerial jobs. In fact, the YSRCP thinking heads wanted to make his wife the candidate in the bypoll and make her a minister. Now, it now emerges that she is not interested in politics.
Sources say that she has practically no interest in politics and that her primary focus is on bringing up her children. Sources say that the YSRCP leaders have held talks with family patriarch and former MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy. Even Reddy is said to have expressed disinterest in asking his daughter-in-law to take up Goutham Reddy’s political mantle.
This has opened up the question as to who would become a minister in YS Jagan’s cabinet after the upcoming reshuffle. Sources say that Anil Yadav, who is currently the minister, is likely to be asked to resign. Sources say either Kakani Govardhan Reddy or Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy could become the minister.
Sridhar Reddy is said to be volatile and sentimental, unlike Kakani who is seasoned politician and deals with the issues in a more matured manner. Sources say even Jagan Mohan Reddy is favourably inclined towards Kakani. However, everything is hazy and unclear, say sources.
