The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday surprised everyone by naming ‘Metro Man’ E Sreedharan as their CM candidate for the upcoming Kerala assembly elections. State chief K. Surendran revealed the decision of the party and said Sreedharan evinced interest in competing for the Chief Minister’s post.
The Metro Man, who had joined the saffron party in February, said that he is entering politics to work for his state’s betterment.
“If the Bharatiya Janata Party wins Assembly polls in Kerala, the focus will be on taking the state out of debt trap and improve infrastructure there,” Sreedharan said.
Incidentally, it is Sreedharan’s last working day today in the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation uniform. He said that he would file his nomination for the elections only after quitting the DMRC. However, Sreedharan has not decided on a constituency yet.
