TDP leader and former leader JC Diwakar Reddy made it to the headlines after authorities have slapped him with a fine of Rs 100 crore in connection with an illegal mining case.
It is believed that the Andhra Pradesh mining department officials have found irregularities at the Trishul Cement Factory, owned by JC Diwakar Reddy’s family, and decided to impose a 100 crore fine.
The authorities have also warned the former minister that if he fails to pay the fine, they will carry out confiscation of assets under the R&R Act. Reports also claim that the authorities found out that limestone was illegally mined and sold there
The Trishul Cement Factory is also said to have got the required permits in the name of drivers and housemaids of the JC Family. After the approvals were received, the shares were transferred to the JC family from the employees.
Earlier, the concerned authorities have found irregularities in two mining companies Sumana and Brahmaramba. These mining companies were run by the JC Family. The owners were sent chow cause notices too.
