Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to have not forgotten the past – especially 2019 where Chandrababu Naidu and he was at loggerheads. Naidu had vowed to unite the Opposition parties against Narendra Modi and rallied against BJP. However, Naidu’s efforts went vain with BJP claiming the power with bigger majority than 2014 and Narendra Modi returned as the Prime Minister.
Cut to the chase, 2020. The world is going through the most difficult times due to wide spread of novel Corona Virus and so India. As the Covid-19 positive cases in India crossed 4000 mark and deaths toll at 118, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dialed the Opposition leaders and prominent politicians of the country to inform them about the measures being taken by the Union Government. Modi has also asked the leaders to come up with any suggestions, ideas to control the spread of Corona Virus pandemic.
While Modi has called Sonia Gandhi to former Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh, Deve Gowda to Telangana CM KCR, AP CM YS Jagan. He also called Samajwadi Party’s Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, West Bengal CM and TMC chief Mamta Banerjee, Orissa CM and BJD president Naveen Patnaik, DMK president Stalin and Siromani Akalidal president Prakash Singh Badal.
However, Modi hasn’t called his former friend and TDP president Chandrababu from AP. This is now fueling speculations that Modi hasn’t forgotten the political statements made by Chandrababu. A section of senior leaders of BJP from Andhra aver that Modi has ignored Chandrababu.
But many opine that ignoring a national leader like Naidu who is good at controlling pandemics and epics and good at disaster-management and not taking his suggestions in these critical hour is not an laudable move by Prime Minister. One has to wait and see, whether Modi will call Naidu sooner or later. TDP leaders are yet to respond on PM ignoring their leader.
