Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the hundreds of years old Jhevoreshwari Kali Mata Temple in the Satkira area as part of a two-day visit to Bangladesh. Special pujas were performed for the goddess in the temple.
Located in Aishwaripur, a village on the border of India and Bangladesh, many devotees from both countries regularly visit this shrine. The temple members traditionally welcomed Prime Minister. Modi offered prayers at the temple. Modi presented a handmade Golden crown to the goddess.
After presenting the crown, Modi said, ‘It is my fortune to visit this Shakti Peetha in Bangladesh. I prayed to Kali Mata to save people of the entire world from this pandemic and presented the crown.”
