On August 8, 2024, Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya and actress Sobhita Dhulipala exchanged rings in a private engagement ceremony held at Chaitanya’s residence in Hyderabad. The intimate gathering was attended by close family members of both families.
The ceremony commenced with traditional Hindu rituals, followed by a vegetarian lunch featuring delicacies from Andhra cuisine. The guest list included prominent members of the Akkineni family, namely Nagarjuna Akkineni, Lakshmi Daggubati, Amala Akkineni, and Akhil Akkineni. Sobhita Dhulipala’s parents, a marine engineer, and a government school teacher, were also present to bless the couple.
The engagement festivities culminated in a celebratory dinner hosted by Nagarjuna Akkineni. The veteran actor subsequently shared the joyous news on social media, officially welcoming Sobhita into the Akkineni family.
Rumors of Chaitanya and Sobhita’s relationship had been circulating since 2022, following the actor’s divorce from Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Their engagement marks a new chapter in their lives.
Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya is currently immersed in the filming of “Thandel,” directed by Chandoo Mondeti. The film, set against the backdrop of Srikakulam, features Chaitanya as a fisherman and reunites him with his “Love Story” co-star, Sai Pallavi.
