The infamous movie ticket rates row in Andhra Pradesh had brought the entire industry on one stand. The big blow faced by the industry made the members of the Tollywood fraternity speak up against the issue. The list of Tollywood who raised their voice against this goes on.
The likes of Power Star Pawan Kalyan, Natural star Nani, Megastar Chiranjeevi, Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna, People’s Star R. Narayana Murthy, Ram Gopal Varma, Suresh Babu, and a few others have openly raised their voice against the government’s decision to bring down the ticket prices.
When the Tollywood film industry is with that stand, Actor-producer King Nagarjuna has a different stand. Responding to the issue Nagarjuna said that he has no issues with the ticket prices row as it doesn’t affect his film in any manner.
Nagarjuna said, addressing the political issues at the filmy events is not good and he is ok with the existing prices. Acknowledging the fact that the low ticket prices will have an impact on his film collections, Nagarjuna said it is not a problem for his film.
‘We should not talk about political issues on a film stage. I won’t talk about it. I don’t have any issue from a commercial point of view. If the ticket prices are high, collections will be a little higher, but I have no issues for my film,’ Nagarjuna said at Bangarraju press event.
His comments had created a big storm and the film distributors and theater owners are said to be not happy with what he said. Exhibitors from East Godavari district called for a meeting on Nagarjuna’s comments. During the meeting, they have reportedly condemned Nag’s comments.
The exhibitors are likely to call for another meeting in a few days and might seek more clarity from Nagarjuna on his controversial comments.
Not just that, the exhibitors are reportedly gearing up to shut the theatres as a bid to protest against his comments if Nagarjuna fails to give clarification on his comments. We have to wait and see how the issue turns out in the coming days.
Nagarjuna is awaiting the release of his upcoming film Bangarraju, in which he will share the screen space with his son Naga Chaitanya. Happening beauty Krithi Shetty is pairing opposite Naga Chaitanya. Kalyan Krishna is the director of Bangarraju.
