Naidu’s global city to be habitation for poor!

Former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu’s global dream city is now set to turn into a habitation for the poor.

The State government headed by Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to provide house sites for the poor in the Amaravati villages, where the previous Chandrababu Naidu government had acquired lands from the farmers to build a global city.

Minister for Revenue and deputy chief minister Pilli Subhashchandra Bose had hinted at the government’s plans of utilising the available lands in Amaravati to provide housing for the poor.

The chief minister is planning to give house sites to the poor across the State on next Telugu New Year day – Ugadi.

According to this plan, the government is now planning to provide house sites for the poor from Tadepalli, Mangalagiri and Thulluru mandals, in the capital villages, if the lands available in the respective villages are not enough.

As the government had already decided to shift the capital to Visakhapatnam and shelved Chandrababu Naidu’s global city concept, the land is likely to be used for providing house sites for the poor.

The government is identifying the suitable lands in Amaravati area and preparing the documents to be handed over to the beneficiaries on Ugadi day.

According to the initial reports, the government plans to give over 2,000 acres of land to the poor for housing.

The beneficiaries’ list is already available with the village secretariats. It is only a matter of official decision by the government to give Amaravati lands to these beneficiaries.

The global dream city, visualised by Chandrababu Naidu in the last four years, is thus set to be the habitation of the poor.

A global destination, as proclaimed by Chandrababu Naidu in the last four years and made by him to dream so, is now set to be the habitation for the poor, homeless people.
