For quite sometime now, there has been news that AP Chief Minister and TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has been unhappy with Allagadda sitting MLA and Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya and her performance. In such a scenario, Akhila has already been alleging that some of the Kurnool district leaders have been conspiring against her and are waiting to watch her lose.
Some of Kurnool TDP leaders already defected to YSRCP while some have maintained status quo. Meanwhile, TDP has been kind to some of the defected MLAs including Akhila Priya and has given them Cabinet berths. However, this might not be the plan for the TDP High Command going further as elections to Assembly and Lok Sabha are fast approaching.
Apparently, the TDP High Command is planning to give Allagadda ticket to Akhila’s cousin and Nandyal MLA Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy while the Nandyal seat may be given to minority leader N.M.D. Farooq. With this news making waves, Kurnool politics is heating up, say political observers.
