If reports are to be believed, the makers of ‘Mahanati’ have dropped the idea of roping in Nani and Naga Chaitanya. They had approached Nani to essay the role of late NTR and Naga Chaitanya for the role of ANR.However, Nani and Chai have reportedly said they can’t pull off the roles (Now, why are we not surprised).
Obviously, Nani feared a backlash, if he did not get the characterisation right. Moreover, Nandamuri Balakrishna is doing a biopic on NTR very soon.If Nani does the role, he will have to face the wrath of Balakrishna. Hence he reportedly politely turned down the role.
Naga Chaitanya doesn’t have such an issue, but he seems to have developed cold feet to step into his grandfather’s shoes. Hence, the makers are now looking to add graphics.”Mahanati’ is based on the life of legendary actress Savitri and the title role is being essayed by Keerthy Suresh. Nag Ashwin of ‘Yevade Subramanyam’ is directing the film while Vyjayanthi Movies is producing it.
