Former Minister, TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh, has visited the kin of Dalit doctor Sudhakar, who breathed his last due to cardiac arrest in Visakhapatnam. Nara Lokesh assured the family that he will stand for them. After meeting the doctor’s family members, Nara Lokesh said that TDP will come to power in the next elections and he will settle all the scores. His comments have created quite a sensation across the state. TDP sympathizers and party activists are happy that Lokesh has changed his approach in politics and started to take the party’s fight forward. His fierce attitude has brought a new josh to the party cadre. On the other hand, political experts are of the opinion that Nara Lokesh made these comments without considering the ground reality that the TDP party has started to fade out in the state slowly. TDP is not a new party and has been active politically over the past 38 years. It is one of the few parties that enjoys a good cadre. Despite this, the party failed to give a fight in the elections held in the state, be it Municipal Polls, Local Body polls, and the recent Tirupati By-polls. The main challenge behind the TDP is that, creating a strong hope for the party and the people in the state that Lokesh is the next big leader. Given the stronghold of ruling YSRCP, it might be a huge task for the opposition party.
