Netflix allots another Rs 200 Cr for Baahubali Web-series

Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer Baahubali, directed by SS Rajamouli, is one of India’s most beloved stories. The film created a sensation at the box office all over the world. Baahubali second part alone has grossed around Rs 2,000 crore. After acknowledging the craze for the film among the audience, the popular OTT giant Netflix felt that the Baahubali brand name should be taken further.

In 2018, the digital streaming platform announced an original web series based on the Baahubali franchise. Titled Baahubali: Before the Beginning, the series is a prequel to the two films that were released earlier.

With a budget of Rs 100 crore, directors Praveen Sattaru and Deva Katta have made a web series under the supervision of Rajamouli. However, Netflix did not like the output of the web series and the OTT platform trashed the whole content, which was made with a budget of Rs 100 crore.

As per the reports, Now Netflix is making the same series with a different team. Again, a new budget of Rs 200 crore has been allotted. This means that Netflix alone is spending Rs 300 crore on this web series. Netflix wants to do justice to the fandom the Baahubali franchise enjoys.
