The sensational Nirbhaya rape case is witnessing twists like a Hollywood thriller. A Trail Court has stalled the execution of all the four convicts citing legal options still pending for them. This has been challenged in the Delhi High Court.
However, the Delhi High Court backed the trail court’s order but did give the convicts seven days time to avail all the legal options. Shortly after the Delhi HC’s verdict, the Centre has approached the Supreme Court and added that the convicts are deliberately delaying the process of death warrant using loopholes of law.
In the Delhi HC, advocates on behalf of Nirbhaya’s mother argued that two convicts have used all the remedies of law and so they should be hanged. Not convinced with this argument Delhi High Court has stated that all the four convicts should be hanged together.
