Nithiin’s director denies abusing Kamma, Kapu caste people

M.S Raja Shekhar Reddy, who is making his directorial debut with Nithiin’s upcoming film Macherla Niyojaka Vargam, has hit the headlines for a wrong reason.

A few comments, claiming to be made by Mr Reddy on Twitter, are now going viral on social media. The tweets, which were posted during the results days of Andhra Pradesh’s 2019 general assembly elections, see the director abusing Kamma and Kapu caste people along with trolling TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu.

Somehow, the netizens dug these old tweets from his timeline after the ‘Ra Ra Reddy’ song from Macherla Niyojaka Vargam caught everyone’s attention. The director has surely landed in trouble as the tweets claiming to be made by him spewed venom against two major castes in the state. However, M.S Raja Shekhar Reddy denied abusing Kamma and Kapu caste people, saying that the tweets were fake and he did not post them.

He urged everyone not to trust the fake tweets and said someone is purportedly spreading them. The director also admitted that he is a fan of former CM late YS Rajasekhar Reddy and revealed he expressed his joy like everyone else during the results day in 2019.

Although Mr Reddy tried to avoid the controversy, a few sections of netizens believe that the director is not as innocent as he claims. Well, the damage is already done, and it remains to be seen what happens next.
