Now that cinema theatres across the twin Telugu states are set to reopen, the makers of Telugu films are locking theatrical release dates for their respective outings. But that is not the case with Nithiin’s Maestro.
The makers of Nithiin’s Maestro have decided to skip theatrical release and sold off the film’s direct to digital rights to Disney+Hotstar. They are said to have made some sizeable profits through this deal.
Well, Nithiin is not in the best of streaks currently as both of his previous films, Check and Rang De bombed at the box office. Moreover, Maestro is arguably an experimental film. So, he seems to have decided to take the safe route with the film and hence, sold the digital rights to the highest bidder.
Maestro is funded by Nithiin’s home banner Sresht Movies and he made sure the producers stuck a profitable deal.
The Merlapaka Gandhi directorial will be available for streaming on Hotstar from the second week of August.
