HMD Global has announced that it is bringing to fans, higher variants of the much-loved smartphone, Nokia 5.1 Plus. The smartphone will now also be available in higher memory variant of 6GB / 64GB, as well as of 4GB / 64GB.
In October last year, HMD Global announced the Nokia 5.1 Plus and the device offers a pure and optimised stock Android experience. It is a part of the Android One program, which further means that users will receive quick software updates.
The Android One smartphone features a 5.86-inch 2.5D HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. At its core, the handset runs on an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 chipset and when introduced, it came loaded with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 400GB. The smartphone is kept alive by a 3060mAh battery.
There is a vertically-aligned dual rear camera setup, including a 13MP f/2.0 camera with PDAF autofocus and a 5MP depth sensor. The rear setup is also assisted by an LED-flash module. For selfies, there is an 8MP f/2.2 shooter with 80.4-degree wide-angle lens. On the connectivity front, the handset has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is equipped with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Recently, Nokia 5.1 Plus was updated with Android 9 Pie, the latest Android operating system, giving users access to the latest, and features from Google such as App Actions and Digital Wellbeing. The Android 9 Pie update ensures that Nokia smartphones improve with time, thanks to intuitive AI which learns user habits to ensure the most effective and efficient experience.
The new Nokia 5.1 Plus will be available starting February 7, 2019, online on Nokia.com/phones; and starting 12th February 2019 across top mobile retail outlets in India in three colour options of Gloss Black, Gloss White and Gloss Midnight Blue.
Nokia 5.1 Plus is available at a recommended best buy price of Rs 16,499 for the memory variant of 6GB/64GB and Rs 14,499 for the memory variant of 4GB/64GB.
Airtel customers will receive Rs 2,000 instant cashback and 240 GB data over 12 months on the plans of Rs 199, Rs 249 and Rs 448.
