The Kurnool district police have filed a case against Telugu Desam Party Chief and ex-Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, for allegedly spreading false rumours about the N440K strain in Andhra Pradesh. A criminal case has been booked against him for spreading fear among the people of the state, saying that the N440K strain is a deadly variant and is spreading rapidly in the state.
Speaking to the media, Kurnool SP Dr. K. Fakeerappa said that the CCMB scientists have clarified that the N440K strain is not spreading rapidly in the state and that it was found in the state way back in June 2020 itself.
Regarding this issue, it is now being said that Naidu will be given a notice personally by the Police department, at his Hyderabad residence, where he is currently living at. It has also been learnt that a non-bailable case has been booked against Naidu.
On the other hand, the government of Andhra Pradesh is said to be trying its level best to make sure that Chandrababu Naidu is embarrassed in this case, and that all fingers point at him. However, members of the TDP are confident that they will emerge victorious out of this.
