Not Learnt From Mistakes?

Sundeep Kishan seems to have learnt nothing from his past mistakes. His choice of scripts is proved bad yet again with his latest offering Tenali Ramakrishna BA.BL. The very role of Tenali Ramakrishna isn’t suitable to Sundeep in the first place. He is misfit for the film.

Most importantly, Sundeep’s eagerness to become a mass hero has backfired with Tenali. The over-the-top heroism and high-octane fight scenes don’t suit Sundeep. He is more fit for underdog roles or boy-next-door roles. In emotional scenes too, Sundeep does good job. Whereas, in Tenali Ramakrishna, Sundeep is out of the place.

Tenali Ramakrishna is bogged down by poor humour, dated story and lackluster narration. The prevailing political satires alone can’t save this story which is as old as hills. Director Nageshwar Reddy who is out of form has delivered a mediocre film where Sundeep’s efforts have been wasted.

At the start of his career, Sundeep had earned critical acclaim for his performance with films like Prasthanam and Gundello Godari. Romantic entertainers like Venkatadari Express too have worked for him. However, he has distanced from these realistic films and tried his hand at commercial and mass cinema. It is high time, he should work upon the stories and scripts before opting for shoot. Else, Sundeep would have to pay hefty price for his choice.
