Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Friday said that the Centre’s demonetization policy was aimed at larger public interest and added that the country will see its fruits in the long run.
Speaking at a awareness programme for workers on the working of cashless transactions here, Dattatreya said that the note ban decision has successfully curbed black money and corruption to a major extent.
The Union minister said that though the Centre’s move has led to inconvenience to the people initially, the results of the same are now out in the open. He said that the move has led to increase in tax collection which will lead to more development. He slammed the Opposition parties opposing the demonetization move saying that they were unnecessarily creating confusion among the masses. He urged the people to opt for cashless transactions and added that it will increase transparency and good governance.
