The sudden decision of senior Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and former MLA from Ramagundam in Peddapalli district Somarapu Satyanarayana to resign from the party created ripples in the political circles.
Satyanarayana, who had served as the chairman of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) till recently, announced his decision at Godavarikhani on Tuesday.
While quitting the party, he made serious allegations against the party leadership.
He alleged that there was no democracy in the party and it was being run like a dictator regime.
He said a section of party leaders were instigating police to harass him and his followers.
“I was not even allowed to play any role in the party and even when I want to take up membership drive, I was not given the membership forms,” he said.
Satyaranayana, who was defeated by a TRS rebel candidate Korukanti Chander Rao in the December 2018 assembly elections, blamed it on former MP and Chennur MLA Balka Suman for his defeat.
Suman, however, denied the allegations of Satyanarayana. He said he had been busy with his own campaign in Chennnur and had no interest whatsoever in Ramagundam.
“Why would I work against my own party leader? Everyone knows the behaviour of Satyanarayana. I leave his comments to his conscience,” he said.
Satyanarayana, who has been keeping away from the party activities from some time, is likely to take future course of action after discussion with followers.
Indications are that he might join the Bharatiya Janata Party along with his followers.
