Now, Special Awards To Short Filmmakers

After having stupendous success in its first five editions, the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) is entering into its sixth year. To commemorate this significant achievement, SIIMA has a latest addition its sixth edition – SIIMA 2017 is going to have SIIMA Short Film Awards, a special initiative to recognise and acknowledge the talent in short films segment.

SIIMA Short Film Awards will be given in 8 categories for all South Indian languages. And it’s going to honour the short filmmakers and acknowledge their efforts to churn out interesting content in short film segment.

This is not all. SIIMA hasn’t just limited it to award the winners. But the winners will also be given a chance to meet and pitch their ideas to film stars at the SIIMA 2017 main event. And needless to add that this is a golden opportunity for the aspiring filmmakers.

“Over the last two years more and more aspiring filmmakers are taking to internet to show their talent and we’ve observed a trend of short filmmakers becoming highly successful filmmakers. We at SIIMA would like to take this opportunity of tapping the right talent at the right time and provide them a platform where the world will recognise them,” the organisers of SIIMA said in a statement.

Talking about SIIMA Short Film Awards, Adusumilli Brinda Prasad Chairperson of SIIMA said that it’s an attempt to discover young filmmakers who are set to change the dynamics of filmmaking with their fresh thoughts and techniques.
