1988-batch IAS officer Yerra Srilakshmi needs no introduction to the people of Andhra Pradesh. Sri Lakshmi, who was arrested, suspended, and jailed in 2011, faced CBI inquiry in illegal mining case over allotment of mines to the Obulapuram Mining Corporation, had joined duty after 5 years in October 2016. Then government had revoked her suspension and gave orders allotting her to Telangana cadre.
Sri Lakshmi, who is presently the Chief Secretary of State Government Institutions in Telangana, said to have applied for deputation to Andhra Pradesh. As YSR’s son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been elected as the Chief Minister, Sri Lakshmi wants to move to AP and work in Jagan’s government. It is learnt that both AP and Telangana governments may respond positively in Sri Lakshmi issue. However, Centre has to approve Sri Lakshmi’s deputation.
Already, Hyderabad-range IG Stephen Ravindra’s deputation has almost approved. Telangana government is likely to approve his deputation request soon. Stephen Ravindra is likely to be the new Intelligence chief in Andhra Pradesh.
